The Tshilidzi Project is a youth development and education initiative dedicated to empowering learners through tutoring, mentorship, and holistic well-being support.

We believe that every child deserves equal access to quality education and the tools to succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances. Through after-school tutoring, life-skills workshops, and leadership development, we nurture confident, capable young minds who can shape their futures with purpose.

In partnership with our Ubuhle Circular Programme, Tshilidzi Project bridges the gap between academic support and personal dignity, ensuring that no learner’s potential is hindered by lack of access to resources or menstrual care.

Our core focus areas:

Tutoring & Academic Support

We provide after-school tutoring and academic mentorship to help learners strengthen their foundation in key subjects. Our goal is to improve performance, build confidence, and ensure that no learner is left behind due to lack of academic support or resources.

Mentorship & Personal Development

Through structured mentorship and leadership sessions, we guide learners in developing self-awareness, discipline, and life skills that prepare them for success beyond the classroom. We focus on cultivating resilience, purpose, and a sense of community.

Well-being & Dignity Initiatives

In collaboration with Ubuhle Pads, we promote menstrual health, hygiene education, and overall learner well-being. By addressing barriers that affect attendance and self-esteem, we ensure that every learner can participate fully and confidently in their education journey.

Since its inception, the Tshilidzi Project has reached and empowered over 200 learners across the Philippi catchment and surrounding areas - providing academic support, mentorship, and menstrual health education to help them thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
